Faatemah for NOH8
March 18, 2010 – Los Angeles, CA: Award winning hair stylist and contestant on Bravo's "Shear Genius 3," Faatemah joins countless celebrities by posing for the infamous silent protest, NOH8.
The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska (http://www.bouska.net) and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8 (Prop 8). Proposition 8 (or the California Marriage Protection Act) was a ballot proposition and constitutional amendment passed in the November 2008, state elections. The measure added a new provision, Section 7.5 of the Declaration of Rights, to the California Constitution. The new section reads: "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest.
"I was honored to be able to pose for NoH8," says Faatemah in a recent interview. "It was amazing working with Adam, especially for something so powerful! I think everyone deserves the choice. And like I always say, I am just a gay man trapped in a woman's body!"

BB Love to Faatemah
The elimination of Faatemah was a bit shocking to me, as I thought she was one of the more talented stylists and would ultimately end up in the final three. But she bit off a little more than she could chew with her complicated braided hairstyle, and Adee was no help because he spent too much time with his own model's hair. In this team challenge, it didn't seem like they worked much as a team, which was to Faatemah's downfall.Faatemah - you are talented and outspoken and we would have loved seeing you stick around for several more weeks. But we know you'll have an amazing career, even without the Shear Genius crown.
This post is only for positive words about Faatemah and her styles. If you have anything negative to say, you may do so here.
