Tabatha's Salon Takeover Tonight
Tabatha's Salon Takeover is all new tonight. This week’s challenge puts Tabatha in a male-only salon with a staff that refuses to open its doors to women. Moreover, the staff has vowed to only spend 30 minutes (tops) on a high-end haircut. Will Tabatha get these narrow-minded employees to open up to positive change? Or will they remain stuck in their ways?

Launch My Line Goes Gaga!
A post-holiday treat for you....
On the next episode of Launch My Line, one of today’s most fashion-forward and over the top pop stars, Lady Gaga, stops by to inspire the designers. The teams are asked to create an avant-garde outfit, but they must make sure they are pushing the boundaries of fashion without crossing the line of good taste. While the lines of fashion might not be crossed, the tension between some teammates gets intense and someone pushes their teammate to the edge.

Reactions to Episode 4 of Launch My Line
So nude humans are considered "art" now? When I went to art school, the drawing of nudes was barely considered art. But anyway...our designers had to draw their inspiration from nekkid people, thankfully blurred for the home audience.
What did you think of the challenge? Did you think that Merle deserved to win for her convertible gown? What about Vanessa being given the boot - was her dress really that bad? Sit down and chat a bit....please leave your thoughts on this episode in the comments.

Tonight, on Launch My Line

Tonight, on the Real Housewives of Orange County
There’s more drama and bickering (bickering and drama?!) tonight on the Real Housewives of Orange County when Vicki plans a trip to Florida for all of the housewives, which she strictly enforces as “girls only.” But when Tamra, Alexis, and Gretchen’s significant others all crash the party, Vicki is less than thrilled. Will new alliances form when Tamra and Gretchen actually agree with one another? And will Tamra and Vicki’s friendship be tested when Tamra doesn’t see Vicki’s side?

Reactions to Episode 3 of Launch My Line
The third episode was a "walk on the wild side" in which the designer/expert teams had to incorporate an animal theme into the latest design for their line. Personally, I liked that they had to use slightly unconventional animals as their inspiration - turtles, toucans, monkeys. The zebra was a bit expected, but wasn't he a little cutie?!
It looked like Patrick was going home (why didn't he throw his "expert" under the bus for that monstrosity? I would have. Probably would have backed the bus up a few times too.) but instead Kevin got the boot. Do you agree with this? What about with Kathy's win?
And...would you wear a jumpsuit? How about bloomers with hairy undersides? Poor Amanda. Please, discuss!

Shear Genius - Back for Season 3!
BRAVO'S "SHEAR GENIUS" IS BACK FOR A THIRD SEASON WITH 12 CUTTING EDGE STYLISTS
Series Premieres Wednesday, February 3 At 11 PM ET/PT
NEW YORK - December 2, 2009 - Bravo's creative hair-styling competition series "Shear Genius" is back for its third season with a whole new look, premiering Wednesday, February 3 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. International model and handbag designer Camila Alves makes her hosting debut alongside new series judge Jonathan Antin, celebrity stylist and former star of Bravo's hit series "Blow Out." Famed stylist Kim Vo returns as a judge for his second season, and new to the series, accomplished stylist Orlando Pita adds his voice of expertise as mentor to the contestants.
Joining the expert panel each week, stars from the hair world and beyond serve as guest judges to determine who makes the cut, including Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Estelle, Tabatha Coffey, star of "Tabatha's Salon Takeover," renowned hair guru Ken Paves and celebrated stylist, Oribe. For a sneak peek of the third season of "Shear Genius," go to: www.bravotv.com/shear-genius/videos/this-is-shear-genius.
"Shear Genius" has gone international for the first time ever and after combing the world in search of top stylists, Bravo has assembled 12 remarkably talented individuals who will raise the level of competition as never seen before. The winner will receive $100,000 in prize money furnished by Nexxus Salon Hair Care, an apprenticeship with Nexxus and the chance to style hair for an Allure magazine photo shoot.
The world of styling is much bigger than just a salon - and Bravo's "Shear Genius" offers a glimpse into that captivating and little-known arena. This season the challenges are more glamorous, the hair more knotty, and the competition more fierce, as the contestants attempt to demonstrate that their style is a cut above the rest. Throughout the course of the series, the stylists' skills are put to the test as they find themselves working behind the scenes at an iconic hotel, styling a celebrity at a glamorous home in the Hollywood Hills, and even in a rural barn.
Following are the 12 stylists competing on the series:
* Adee - 36, Hometown: London, England
* Amy - 25, Hometown: Toronto, Canada
* April - 42, Hometown: New York, NY.
* Arzo -35, Hometown: San Francisco, Calif.
* Brian - 37, Hometown: New York, N.Y.
* Brig - 33, Hometown: Simi Valley, Calif.
* Faatemah - 36, Hometown: Minneapolis, Minn.
* Giacomo - 43, Hometown: Austin, Texas
* Janine - 28, Hometown: Los Angeles, Calif.
* Joey - 29, Hometown: Melbourne, Australia
* Jon - 38, Hometown: Nashville, Tenn.
* Matthew - 38, Hometown: Denver, Colo.
In each episode, the stylists compete in a short cut challenge - testing technical hairstyling skills, and in the elimination challenge they test creativity and advanced skills. From styling a risqu? runway show where the hair must artfully cover areas the outfit does not, to a romance novel shoot that begs for the hairstyles to evoke fantasy, the competition get fierce as the stylists strive to prove their work is "Shear Genius."

Fun Facts about "Launch My Line."
After watching a screener of the first episode of Launch My Line I have to admit that I'm kind of captivated. It's a lot of fun - and frankly - I could use some fun.
Here are my impressions, in no particular order.
1. This show matches up "celebrities" who want to launch a line, with "designers" who will win $50,000 if they are teamed with the winning celebrity. There is tremendous potential for drama.
Imagine that the "celebrity" (without any understanding of pattern-drafting, sketching, or fabrication) describes something and expects the designer to execute it by mind-reading. That's kind of the premise of the show.
2. I have seen Patrick McDonald at Bryant Park, but I never understood who he was, or what he does. Apparently he is a "dandy." What does a dandy do? Anyway, after watching the episode, I'm rooting for him. He's very likeable and kind of sweet and humble. Patrick is paired with Roberto De Villacis. I'm pretty sure Patrick will be the subject of a Limerick very soon.
3. Amanda Fields is modeling!
4. Merle "Peg Bundy" Ginsberg, is awfully sure of herself.
5. Dean and Dan Caten are cute and certainly qualified hosts, but they have really annoying voices. Eminently mockable. This is a parody waiting to happen.
Click here for an interview with the twins from Boston.com.
6. Roberto De Villacis is a "couture" designer who has worked with Carrie Underwood, however, he is NOT responsible for this. Also, he obviously believes that he is the "star" of the show. He's a riot.
This is the kind of casting that we tune in to Bravo for.

On the season premiere, nine eclectic students are chosen to be the guinea pigs in Chef Novelli's culinary education experiment, hand picked by himself and Mr. Kitchen after performing the simple culinary task of cooking an egg. The students represent an array of backgrounds from newly trained chefs to anxious homemakers hoping to learn some new culinary tricks. Students are assessed weekly via a variety of tests from preparing bread to gutting a fish. But Chef Novelli forewarns the students – failing three tests is grounds for dismissal from his Academy.
Throughout the series, Chef Novelli presents unique and delectable dishes that only someone of his caliber could create with directives laden with a heavy French accent. The awe-struck students, many of whom are culinary novices, are wowed by the creations they see too quickly taking shape with such ease in front of their eyes. While the dishes inspire the students, tensions arise when they are asked to recreate the dishes with their very fate at the Academy on the line.

Tonight on Bravo
Tonight is a great night on BRAVO as the legendary Bon Jovi will be chatting with James Lipton on a new Inside the Actor's Studio and later there's a new episode of Million Dollar Listing :)
In a rare appearance, the members of Bon Jovi grace the Inside The Actor's Studio stage at 7/6c. The New Jersey natives reflect on their 26-year career together, discussing their personal struggles along the way and describing how it was the band that ultimately held them together. Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan, and Tico Torres are ALL in-house to answer James Lipton's probing questions. Will they give a little performance or two of their greatest hits? Dont miss this special episode!
And at 10/9c on Million Dollar Listing, Josh has to put together an open-house for a run-down, fixer-upper with a fabulous view of LA. Pulling out all the stops to try and direct people solely to the view, will he be able to trick potential buyers? Madison coordinates a leasing deal for one of his clients, but the person he has found to lease her house may not be the most ideal tenant. And Chad gets a huge, unwelcoming surprise when the house he plans to show for his brokers open in just five days is not nearly done with its “soft remodeling”. With the home looking like a disaster-zone, will he be able to get it together in time?

Tabatha Goes Green
When she’s not helping struggling salons stay in business on her Bravo series Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, Australian-born hairstylist Tabatha Coffey coifs clients at her Ridgewood, N.J., shop Industrie Hair Gurus, an eco-friendly enterprise. “All the products we use in the salon have not been tested on animals, which is a big thing for me, and they are very safe. We use green cleaning products and have air filters because of the fumes,” says Coffey, who intends to remodel the place with energy-saving lighting. And instead of throwing away the bags of snipped hair collected each day, she donates them to Matter of Trust, which makes great use of the absorbent material. “They use it to mop up oil spills and help save the ocean,” she explains.
At home, Coffey recycles and uses CFL bulbs and green cleaners, which are safer for her dog. “It’s important to do as much as I can. We need to give back to the environment,” she believes. First seen as a contestant on Shear Genius, the peripatetic Coffey (she flies every five weeks to guest-style at the Warren-Tricomi salon in Los Angeles) begins her second Takeover season Nov. 3, and will work with salons in L.A, New York, Miami and Chicago. “The stakes are a little bit higher especially in this economic state at the moment,” she says.
