Congratulations, Reco!
A hearty congratulations to Reco for pulling off a fabulous shoe-inspired design that was intricate, fashion-forward, and interesting. Isaac was impressed by your skirt-length decision, as it's difficult to determine something that works well with a short bootie. Your net-like eyepiece/hat was also a genius styling choice.
We're looking forward to seeing your future designs on The Fashion Show. One questions: how do you get done so fast?
This post is only for positive words for Reco or his work. If you have anything negative to say about him or another designer, please click here.

BB Love to Andrew
Andrew, we definitely didn't expect you to leave the competition so early, especially after your great success in last week's outerwear challenge. This week, the judges weren't as impressed, although George Malkemus of Manolo Blahnik said that he knows many women would buy up your design in a minute.
We enjoyed watching you on The Fashion Show. We wish you continued success with your Andrew Christian line and hope to see you meet your goal to take on the world of women's fashion.

Advice column on Slate -- "how do I deal with my wife's addiction to Bravo TV?"
In the May 28 advice column called Dear Prudence on Slate.com, a husband asks for advice on dealing with his wife's addiction to Bravo TV: "the accumulated Housewives of Orange County, Top Chef, and Millionaire Matchmaker, etc., is driving me bonkers. I feel as if I'm constantly letting the vapid, catty, self-centered individuals from these television shows into my home. To combat her watching this dross, I've tried bribery, negotiation, walking (storming) out of the room, and suggesting other projects."
Prudence defends a few shows in Bravo's lineup, suggests regular outings away from TV, and concludes, "If she can't make that concession, maybe it's time for the camera crew to move in."
Are YOU addicted to Bravo? Can you suggest a 12-step program for this beleaguered couple?

More Housewives!
BRAVO ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF
"THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF D.C."
"THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF D.C."
NEW YORK, NY – May 26, 2009 – Today, Bravo announced that a spin-off of its hit docu-series franchise "The Real Housewives," is in development, this time set in the influential metropolitan region of Washington, D.C. The announcement was made by Frances Berwick, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Bravo Media.
"We're tapping personalities who are among Washington D.C.'s influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders – the people who rub elbows with the most prominent people in the country and easily move in the city's diverse political and social circles," said Berwick.
A place for power and politics, Bravo is scouting the D.C. area to identify the city's alluring and discriminating residents, those women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings and fundraisers in Washington society. These leading members of D.C. society are in the know and comfortable discussing everything from the economy to high fashion. They are the talk of the town in the most powerful city in the world.
Bravo has tapped Half Yard Productions to develop this project.
Bravo is a program service of NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, a division of NBC Universal one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global audience. Bravo has been an NBC Universal cable network since December 2002 and was the first television service dedicated to film and the performing arts when it launched in December 1980. A Message from Anna
For everyone who liked my coat on Episode 3 of "The Fashion Show":
I did do a coat that is similar in style for my Fall 2009 Miranda Darkling Collection that I am offering for pre-order at 30% off one time only!
Waki Coat - diamond pattern, black and grey, $490
This coat is an Italian wool, fully lined, and hand-tailored. If you pre-order, we will charge your credit card when we ship it to you in September, just before it starts to get cold. Perfect timing! Remember that this coat retails for upwards of $800 so you are getting a deal ladies! I initially designed it just before I went on the show, wanting to create something that was WARM and gave me practical functions like the hood while still being classically stylish. Don't worry, your coat will also have zippers in the sleeves ( a show inspired addition) for all of your shoplifting needs!
Just send me an e-mail and I will send you an order form: mirandadarklingATgmailDOTcom
I want to encourage everyone to keep watching! Despite the inevitable Project Runway comparison, it is a very good show.
"The Fashion Show" on Bravo, Thursdays at 10pm. Remember, in the end, America gets to vote on who they think is the best designer, and that designer wins $125,000, which means our fates lie in your hands.
Keep an eye on my website for updates: www.annamccraney.com
You can download episodes from itunes, and eventually they will put all the episodes up online, so keep an eye out on the Bravo website and vote if you think the Panty Christ shouldn't have won this week!
I know it is so annoying to vote on that system, so I thank everyone who voted last week because ultimately, it was determined that I should have won on Episode 2. You can also read cast blogs, play some silly game, and watch clips for future episodes on their website. I would also like to say that Episode 4, coming up, is the first episode after I bought my curling iron, which has changed my life.
Keep watching! anna mccraney

Andrew Christian in Houston
Houston-based field reporter and Bravo fan, John C, sends us this report from Houston. Thank you John.
Hey Blogging Bravo,
I had the good fortune to meet Andrew Christian in Houston this weekend! Andrew hosted a meet-and-greet at a local menswear store, and produced a fashion show at a club later that night.
Andrew actually seemed a little...reserved...compared to other reality show personalities I've encountered. He very graciously signed paraphernalia, and we chatted for a bit about "The Fashion Show". I inquired as to whether the winning designer had any input into the final design sold on bravotv.com, and whether they received any financial rewards from the sales. Surprisingly, no on both accounts.
We of course discussed the drama that erupted during this week's judging concerning Daniella and the "stolen" concepts! Andrew obviously stands behind his design, and naturally felt some vindication with Norma Kamali's quick dismissal of Daniella's remarks. He suspects some producer meddling as a catalyst to the drama, and reflected on how much "real" remains in "reality TV."
The underwear show later that night was quite impressive, but I'm withholding pictures in keeping with Blogging Bravo's family-oriented sensibilities =). Good luck to Andrew throughout the rest of the competition!

Congratulations, Andrew!
Andrew, the judges loved your convertible rain coat - and what's not to like? It was attractive, functional, and fun. Additionally, you showed that you work well in a team because you sought suggestions and took them well; you also showed skill as a designer by adding your own twists. Congratulations on the win!

Markus, your coat design did not capture the je ne sais quois the judges look for, although Isaac did praise your innovative incorporation of a jewelry-roll as the collar. BB Love to Laura
Laura, we barely got to know you at all in these two short weeks. For this challenge, you stuck to your guns and used a fabric that wasn't popular with the rest of your team-mates. And ultimately, your fabric choices were your undoing, as the tulle in the back of the dress was not a favorite, either. We would have loved to see what you could have done with a larger budget and sustainable materials!
You have a quirky, interesting style, and no doubt you will be successful with your own line in the future.

Real Housewives of New York Reunion Part 2 Tonight at 9:00
Wait a sec, Kelly, are you and Bethenny "totally different" or are you "exactly the same?" I'm confused.
Honestly I believe that when Kelly was added to the cast, the other women thought, "Oh yes, we know Kelly - she'll be fun..." But they didn't really know her well and of course, she "didn't know" them. She hadn't watched the show and was not in any way familiar with the personalities and dynamics of the original housewives.
She's not bright enough to catch on or to catch up and has no idea how she is perceived. If anyone believed that Kelly Bensimon was anything "special" before she appeared on this show, she has certainly cleared up that misconception.

TFS Bios - Jonny
With roots in music, art, skateboarding and fashion, Jonny has developed a raw urban style matched with classic simplicity of the silhouette. In 1999, he co-founded the North Hollywood artist colony knows as "The Compound," and began designing Afroman Skateboards, a company that became an underground icon. In 2002, Jonny and a few of his friends created their first fashion line, Elmer Ave. Their concept was to redefine street style into high-end men's suiting with a rock-n-roll edge. Over the past few years, Jonny's accomplishments have included: dressing the men's collection for Toni and Guy London alongside Alexander McQueen, a role as guest designer on America’s Next Top Model, an appearance on the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, main stage Mercedes Benz Fashion Week showings and working with an impressive list of celebrity clients including Tommy Lee, Black Eyed Peas, Paramore, and Panic! At the Disco. A story of rags-to-riches, this self-taught designer is inspired by experimentation and is currently developing a new addition to Elmer Ave menswear collection to fit women dubbed "the doll fit."

TFS Bios - James-Paul
When he was just eight-years-old, James-Paul knew he was destined to be a fashion designer. After earning his associates degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, James-Paul moved to London where he could relate to other unconventional thinkers in the fashion industry. While attending London South Bank University and American Intercontinental University, London, he was inspired by the 1920's Bauhaus movement. James-Paul utilizes the patterns of Bauhaus to create clothes with simplified geometric pieces. After finishing his two Bachelor Degrees in Women’s Wear, James-Paul found a home for his radical approach at the Vivienne Westwood studios, where he was pushed to break the rules and make garments that couldn’t be found in pattern books. He cites an appetite for experimentation as the most important trait for any aspiring designer. James-Paul is currently developing a post-colonialist approach through fabrication and silhouette. When asked what his secret weapon is in the competition, James-Paul's answers: "my brain."

TFS Bios - Haven
Haven discovered her love for fashion in the pages of high fashion magazines. She would wallpaper her bedroom in their pages and create her own sketches and designs. After high school, she moved from her hometown in Tennessee to Los Angeles where she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and worked as a stylist on the Chelsea Lately Show. She describes herself as "a bit of a control freak" and likes things her way. Haven designs clothes that she wants to wear, always keeping in mind that a woman should feel sexy, confident and feminine. The greatest inspiration for her clothing comes from the beauty and mystery of women in foreign cultures as well as the work of the great Yves Saint Laurent. Haven currently has pieces in top boutiques in Los Angeles, San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, and Miami. She most recently collaborated with two close friends to create EliaH Joel, a new clothing line that officially launched in January 2009. In addition, Haven is currently working on a young girls line, Lalu. A warning to the other contestants – this designer isn't afraid to speak her mind. "I can be a bitch. If you ask me a question I'm going to give you my opinion and if you aren't ready for the answer, don’t ask."
